"While some will focus on Chris Brown past, the big story here is the numbers! The 'Graffiti" Album generated more than 400 million samples, to those outside looking in, it's just the beginning of what's to come as we build out our Sampling and Bundling Platform. 5 years ago when we were trying to get anyone that would listen to our crazy music ideal, "Sampling" was the format that we felt would become the next big thing! The goal for us was to add a retail component to the sampling process, which took us more than 18 months to do! But when you really take a step back and look at the amount of content/music that's sampled on the internet in a single day, it surpass the number of videos that are watched on YouTube! But trying to get Warner Music Group, EMI, SonyBMG and Universal Music to go beyond that One Size Fit All Licensing Fee, was like pulling money from a dead man hands... They just could not see beyond downloading!
But to understand the process we tell people to just think about how pennies seem to add up? That's how it works with sampling, a penny here and a penny there, next thing you know you are looking at $5 million to $20 million in revenue in a very short period of time. The best thing about our format is that you really don't need a lot of members. People just have a way of clicking! For us sampling is the next big thing that we will continue to use, to generate revenue for 2BLIKEu Central (coming in 2011) and our Music Suppliers.
And yes, we did receive complaints from some of 2BLIKEu members over the last week. But we felt the time we took before hand permitted our members to express their opinions and to focus on the content at the same time. By making our members apart of the overall process allowed us to limit the number of negative emails we received. So we intend to continue looking for content that have a universal appeal to it for our members.” Said Charles Allen, Co-founder of 2BLIKEu.com.
2BLIKEu did not permit any registered member to download content, nor did they process any purchase requests that were made over the review period. 2BLIEKu also feels it's the Record Industry that has to adjust or get left behind again!
